2017 marks the 70th Anniversary of India’s Independence.
It also marks the “Partition of India” in 1947 or the division of British India into different countries or the creation of India and Pakistan, as well as Bangladesh later.
The BBC has commissioned several radio and TV programmes.

BBC Radio Leeds
BBC Radio Leeds and West Yorkshire Playhouse are working together to present Leeds-based arts journalist and author, Nick Ahad’s new play “Partition”. The play is directed by Stefan Escreet.
It will be broadcast on BBC Radio Leeds at midnight on 14/15 August, to mark the exact time when the British partitioned India.
