In a previous blogpost, I listed some of the new radio and television programmes the BBC has commissioned for the 70th anniversary of India’s independence. But if you cannot wait to find out more about the Partition of India in 1947, the BBC World Service still has 5 podcasts (around 30 minutes each) made in 1997 available on its iplayer.
Interestingly titled “India: A People Partitioned”, each podcast covers different aspects of this difficult episode of history: “Kashmir and the Partition”, the impact on women, Sikhs etc.
You can find these BBC podcasts here.
